Q: Can I search for a particular research paper?

A: There is a keyword search box at the top right-hand corner of each category within Validation Studies, with the exception of the Primary Publications category. The papers in Primary Publications are displayed in a fixed ranking as key references on the origin and development of the AUDIT. In addition, the papers in each category (except Primary Publications) may be sorted alphabetically by the name of the first author or language, or by date using the up and down arrows at the top of each column.

A: Yes. As a World Health Organization (WHO)-approved instrument, the AUDIT is in the public domain.

 
Q: What type of permissions are required to use the AUDIT questionnaire?

A: No permission is needed for the use of the AUDIT questionnaire for any non-commercial purpose. This means that someone who is completing the questionnaire should not be charged a fee. The AUDIT questionnaire can also be used and reproduced for administration and publication by any organisation (for example, in research studies and clinical trials), as long as it is not materially changed and that there is a note that it is a WHO-approved instrument.
 

Q: Is there any copyright text information that should be included with the AUDIT questionnaire if it is reproduced for publication?

A: No. It is sufficient to state: ”As a WHO-approved instrument, the AUDIT is in the public domain”.
